Creating a story for a strong but silent brand

The Situation

Even though Isotec is one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of door access control systems and the only company that is certified by the Department of Homeland Security, the company sells through security integrators, so people who want to make their banks, courthouses, and corporate offices safer don’t always know to ask for Isotec by name, and they may not fully understand what makes Isotec a superior option.

The Request

Isotec wanted a video that would appeal to the interests and concerns of people who would be asked to review and approve purchases of this size, like business executives and members of boards of trustees. Isotec wanted a video that would broadcast the brand’s name along with a compelling and convincing argument for Isotec Safety Entrances™.

The Challenge

One of the challenges of telling the story was balancing the message. We needed to communicate the superiority of Isotec’s product specifications without sounding too technical and jeopardizing audience engagement. We wanted to establish the need and value of having an Isotec Safety Entrance™ without focusing purely on customers’ fears for what could happen if they don’t have them. And we also worked to demonstrate the advantages of an Isotec Safety Entrance™ as the superior security choice without overtly criticizing other security products or options.

The Solution

We worked with Isotec to develop a concept and approach, write a script, establish a visual style, create the artwork, record the voice over, and build a 90-second animated video.

Our goal was to create an engaging video that made viewers feel good about the experiences they could create in their buildings, versus scaring or guilting them into action. The video highlights product features and benefits so potential customers understand how effective and user-friendly Isotec Safety Entrances™ are, while also communicating what is unique about Isotec—its philosophy and dedication to entrances, and encouraging viewers to ask their security integrator for Isotec.

We took a proactive approach that showcased the benefit of creating safe spaces, emphasizing the potential for human interactions and relationships inside them. The positive tone, cheerful color palette, friendly, simple illustrations, 3-dimensional product views, and engaging animations work together to tell a story about what you can achieve and how you can succeed when you ask for Isotec.
